Yes. Use BYOR. Chert operates the line and bridge; your agent joins your own LiveKit room using a token from your backend. Chert joins with a separate token you provide. A Chert-operated line does not require a Chert-managed Assistant.
Yes. On video calls, the bridge publishes facetime-remote-video alongside facetime-remote-audio. Subscribe to both and connect the video frames to your agent’s vision pipeline. Audio-only calls do not include caller video.
One active call per provisioned line. N independently provisioned, ready lines support up to N simultaneous calls, subject to your agent and LiveKit capacity. Confirm your event’s actual line allocation with Chert; teams can share fewer lines through sequential slots. See Limits and readiness.
You also need a provisioned FaceTime line, an agent runtime, room and token creation, and an HTTPS decision webhook. Follow the preparation checklist, then rehearse a live video call before the demo.
No. Any iPhone, iPad, or Mac with FaceTime works. That is the point.
Yes. Each line resolves the assistant’s active published version independently.
Yes. Assign another assistant or publish a new version; it takes effect on the next call. Active calls never change mid-call.
The call is declined at the response deadline. The caller experiences a normal unanswered or busy call.
Yes. FaceTime Audio uses the same assistant; the avatar is simply not rendered.
Not currently. BYOR gives you full control by bringing the entire agent; Managed Assistants uses Chert’s managed stack end-to-end.
